Hi,
Look what I got from founder and brewmaster Achouffe, Chris Bauweraerts!
It's an amazing presentation that shows how the brewery was raised way back in 1982!
It shows the pictures from 1982 towards 1992.
Brewery Achouffe, 1982 – 1992, the years of the "selfdesigned & selfmade brewery"... From 2 hl/year to 3 400 hl/year.      

By The Beer: on 12 – 13 – 14 August 40 years brasserie d'Achouffe fest in Achouffe. Under the name "LA GRANDE CHOUFFERIE".

Yes John, that is quite fascinating!!
Katrien and I visited that small brewery around 1986, and I have seen that small brewery equipment, which was all hand made by Chris Bauweraerts and Pierre Gobron, the brewmastres and also brothers in law from eachother. Thay started with a capital of 5000 euro only!!
You see, hard work and passion can lead to a success story!
Chris is retired now, and Pierre is still active at brasserie Lupulus (formerly brasserie Les 3 Fourquets).

Wonderful story in pictures about Achouffe!

What's amazing is the fact that the story is told in pictures,
and especially before instagram etc etc when pictures were taken
far less, in business anyway.

Yes Viv, alot of pictures were taken that pre-Internet period!
This is what Chris mailed me about the pictures:

"In a way I am very happy that I took a lot of photos at the time and kept track of submitted photos.
Honestly, at the time I took a lot of photos because I thought "if the brewery becomes a success, these will be historic photos"...
So somehow I believed in it. The photos prove that. "

Believing in yourself is the key!!
Something we ALL should do
